We believe the environment plays a major role in a young child’s wellbeing. That is why our home includes thoughtful facilities that support both daily living and emotional comfort.
Our home offers a calm and inviting setting where children can feel at ease from the moment they arrive. We have created a space that balances privacy, comfort, and shared living so that each child has room to relax and feel at home.
Each child has their own individual spacious bedroom (permanent residents will have the opportunity to work with staff on redecorating their respective bedrooms to their taste), giving them a personal space that reflects their identity and need for comfort. We also provide comfortable living areas and a games room, helping create a friendly and engaging atmosphere where children can socialise and unwind.
OASIS Homes provides focused attention and carefully matched placements, which helps us deliver a more personal and responsive service. This smaller setting allows us to get to know each young person well and tailor support to their needs.
Every part of the home has been considered with the child in mind. From bedrooms to communal areas, our facilities are there to support stability, wellbeing, and a sense of belonging.
Plews House is situated within Derby City and works in partnership with Derby City Council, Derbyshire County Council where relevant, Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Partnership, local education providers, health services and other partner agencies to promote positive outcomes and safeguard children effectively.
We understand that some children need time and space to process their experiences. That is why our home includes quiet spaces for reflection, allowing children to have moments of peace when they need them most. These areas support emotional wellbeing and help create a balanced environment where children are encouraged to regulate, rest, and reset.
Our accommodation also includes outdoor space, offering children the chance to spend time outside, enjoy fresh air, and benefit from a more open and relaxed setting. Shared spaces are designed to support a sense of belonging and community while still respecting each young person’s individuality. We want children to feel that this is their home. The layout and facilities are intended to promote comfort, healthy routines, and positive interaction.
